Business Development Representative- Slough, UK
This position will be a key contributor and Sales support resource to further the goals and targets of the US Sales Team in selling LIQUENT's software and service offerings, managing internal development contributions and input, preparing preliminary documentation and providing on-going client maintenance. Current support of the US Sales Team is defined below and is subject to the evolution of Sales strategy.
A successful interpretation and implementation of this support role can provide a foothold towards an Account Executive position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Required to both visit clients in person and manage relationships in person and via the telephone.
- Will work to build, create and contribute to the successful closure of existing opportunities and pursue future opportunities by arranging for on-site demonstrations, workshops, responding to RFPs and other external sales-related activities that contribute to the successful completion of the sales cycle.

- Provide continuing client service based on client requirements.
- The above-mentioned assistance will be driven by requirements and the guidance of your Supervisor.
- Research and gather intelligence on target market sectors / organizations and contacts as part of the sales process.
- Develop a strategic and tactical sales plan to aid EU Sales Team efforts in driving revenue within the EU assigned account base.
- Assisting in the co-ordination and follow up to marketing campaigns – an example would include attending seminars and manning exhibition stands to interact with clients with the goal of creating future business or closing existing business.
- Entering information into the database, ensuring all further calls and qualifications are diarized and documented into the system.
- Liaison with marketing staff
- May be asked to represent the company at regional or national trade shows, or local client calls.
- Manage account data through LIQUENT's customer relationship management system and provide information to sales management and other LIQUENT departments.
- Responsible for managing progression of leads through the marketing/sales pipeline.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Marketing, or related discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience in professional selling, marketing, or account management preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Capable of communicating complex concepts, value propositions, and technical information within a selling environment.
- IT literacy and a confident sales technique combined with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products as well as previous experience and familiarity with a leading CRM program, SAP Business byDesign is preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts.
- Ability to independently solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
