Business Analyst- Horsham, PA
The Business Analyst is responsible for requirements development of packaged commercial software applications targeted for the Life Sciences industry in the regulatory operations and regulatory affairs areas. This individual will work in Liquent’s Product Management group to determine and document detailed requirements for future software releases. The individual must be a self starter able to determine their priorities with minimal direction.
The individual will be responsible for documenting requirements as well as leading and facilitating sessions to present requirements to the engineering team, and must be comfortable making decisions to ensure the processes can move forward. The individual will also be a quick-learner who can quickly pick up new functional expertise and enjoys working with a variety of applications.
Looking for a Business Analyst with:
- Software Development experience and Regulatory Operations knowledge of the Life Sciences industry.
- Experience working with submission publishing or registration tracking systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Content Management Systems such as Documentum, OpenText Livelink, or SharePoint.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participation in determining functional requirements with Product Managers functioning as the lead.
- Responsible for defining requirement details needed to implement a general desired feature including the exact user experience in the software.
- Leading requirements and documentation review to identify missing, unclear, or conflicting requirements.
- Creation and refinement of requirements documentation including but not limited to functional requirements, conceptual data models, process flows and User Interface mock-ups.
- Participation in and occasionally leading requirements review, test planning, application validation with subject-matter experts, and user documentation reviews.
- Direct interface with engineering, quality control (QC), and Product Managers to ensure functionality is understood and documentation is clear.
- Resolution and documentation of functional issues such as data validation, User Interface behavior, and exception processing.
- Assist in the determination of product functionality needed in order to stay in compliance or to effectively address new and changing regulations and/or guidance related to the product.
- Creation and delivery of presentations both internally and externally with respect to the product.
- 2-3 years business analysis or similar experience in a software development environment.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences industry, especially regulatory operations and regulatory affairs.
- Knowledge of Document Management Systems such as Documentum, OpenText, or SharePoint
- Experience working with submission publishing or registration tracking systems.
- Experience working with QA and developers, especially as a liaison to subject matter experts, to identify and resolve functional issues highly desirable.
- Experience in documenting requirements such as process flows, functional requirements, User Interface mock ups, user stories, and conceptual data diagrams.
- Experience in leading and facilitating sessions to deliver requirements to project teams (i.e. engineering, QA, training, etc.)
- Experience in creating and delivering presentations.
- Experience with web GUI design and web architectures preferred.
- Experience with relational data analysis preferred.
- Experience with web enterprise architectures preferred.
- Experience with the Agile development methodology desirable.
- Experience with Commercial Off-the-Shelf software.
- Detail oriented philosophy and highly developed prioritization and organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to pick up new functional areas quickly.
