Account Executive- Northeast US

This position reports to a Sales Director.  Working within an assigned territory, this position will work independently to be a key contributor to sell LIQUENT’s outsourcing capabilities, software and related service offerings within an assigned geographical region, and have ongoing client maintenance of the defined region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will independently be responsible for an assigned territory to drive revenue of the region. Required to both visit clients in person and manage relationships in person and via the telephone. Cold calling skills are a necessary component to identify and uncover opportunities within assigned region.
  • Will work to build territory opportunities to pursue within the assigned territory, arrange for on-site demonstrations, workshops, respond to RFPs and other sales related activity. Research and gather intelligence on target market sectors / organizations and contacts as part of the sales process.
  • Develop a strategic and tactical sales plan to aid his/her efforts in driving revenue within his/her assigned account base.
  • Assisting in the co-ordination and follow up to marketing campaigns - examples would include ensuring delegates attended seminars and manning exhibition stands to interact with clients with the goal to close business.
  • Entering information into the database, ensuring all further calls and qualifications are diarized and documented into the system.
  • Liaison with marketing staff to ensure appropriate contacts are fed into marketing campaigns.
  • Diarizing, documenting and following up leads where there is no immediate requirement for the LIQUENT business (training and products).
  • May be asked to represent the company at regional or national trade shows, technology seminars, or local client calls.
  • Key in managing account data through LIQUENT's customer relationship management system and provide information about his/her assigned accounts to sales management and other LIQUENT departments.
  • Responsible for managing progression of leads through the marketing/sales pipeline.

Qualifications:


  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Individual will have worked in a Life Sciences sales environment with at least 1 years experience in a similar role.
  • Capable of communicating concepts, value propositions, and technical information within a telephone selling environment.
  • Contact Databases – familiarity with one of the leading products such as Act, Goldmine, Salesforce.com, Maximiser, eFO.
  • 1-2 years of experience in professional selling, marketing, or account management preferably within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products (Access, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with one of the leading CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, eFO, Act, Goldmine, or Maximiser.
  • Self starter accustomed to working individually.
  • Capable of communicating concepts, value propositions, and technical information within a telephone selling environment.
  • Should possess a confident sales technique and excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
